Position Summary:
Reporting to the IT Assistant Director, this position will be responsible for automating workflows, systems integration, and the support, upgrading, and optimization of software applications (except for hospital EMR and PACS). This position will work with customers and IT personnel to ensure that software applications are maintained at vendor-supported levels, and that underlying technology is maintained at current, secure, and vendor-supported. The role may include other responsibilities, such as mobile device management, special automation projects, and assisting IT Service Desk with large scale rollouts.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
Associate’s Degree or relevant work experience required. Experience in IT and healthcare industry is preferred.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be proficient in the software tools utilized within the Information Technology application portfolio. Skills include: Windows 10-11, power shell scripting, Service Now workflow platform, Citrix, and VM Horizon View. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, and the working independently with vendors to maintain and upgrade software applications.
Physical Environment:
Applicant will be familiar with office and hospital settings and all areas pertinent to the position.
Physical Effort:
Requires significant unrestricted movement in and around entire hospital campus, and the ability to stoop, bend, reach and lift in areas where computer equipment exists, including small closets, under desks and shelves. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other communications/computer components. Installation and inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as communications equipment and peripherals.
Key Results:
Collaborate with IT personnel and customers to learn software applications, underlying technologies, and end user workflows.
Develop expertise in the Service Now platform, to create efficient workflows, reporting, and management of IT software and equipment.
Learn capabilities of the Summit interface engine, including HL7 integration language, scripting, and All Access downtime system.
Identify and undertake projects to improve automation of IT processes and workflows.
Coordinate timelines for applications upgrades with customers and IT management.
Provide regular status updates to IT management and customers, regarding software upgrade and implementation projects.
Assist IT engineering team with mobile device management, virtual desktops, and security.
Assist IT Service Desk with large scale projects and equipment rollouts as needed.
Learn best practices for software testing, and demonstrate competency in thorough testing of applications prior to customer use.
Demonstrate ownership of tasks and projects as assigned by IT management.
Work with IT personnel and customers to identify opportunities for EMR interfaces, improved automation, and consolidation of software applications.
Maintain an accurate inventory of software applications, underlying technologies, end user licenses, etc.
