POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides clinical nursing support to Williamson Health Medical Group by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures and maintaining adequate clinical supplies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:
Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
Licensed by the State of Tennessee.

Workplace Experience:
At least one year of experience in medical office environment

Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone and various oral and injectable medications.

Physical Environment:
Office environment

Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 20 pounds.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  1. Accurately records patient’s medical history and vital signs.
  2. Administers gastroenterology appropriate immunizations/injections
  3. Provide detailed patient instructions for gastrointestinal & endoscopic procedures.
  4. Orders and maintains clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals
  5. Coordinates patients set up with Infusion Centers.
  6. Coordinates cardiac clearance for patients be scheduled for procedures
  7. Triages phone calls and addresses patient portal messages.
  8. Obtain approval for gastrointestinal medication and specialized labs 
  9. Assist with pathology letter to patients who had gastrointestinal or endoscopic procedure performed.
  10. Provide patient education related to their diagnosis and/or medication 
  11. Secures consultations to other specialties 
  12. Plan, assess & schedule gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures
  13. Additional tasks as needed to help support the practitioners and management
