Position Summary:

Provides professional, courteous customer service by screening all individuals entering the facility at designated entrances.  Ability to respond to situations and reactions associated with a public facing position.  

Position Requirements:

Formal Education / Training:
High school diploma or equivalent
BLS required within 90 days of hire

Workplace Experience:
Experience in a professional customer service oriented environment

Equipment and Skills Training:
Forehead and oral thermometer, Personal Protective Equipment (mask), excellent customer service skills, problem-solving skills to determine appropriate course of action in situations, Ability to handle difficult situations/interactions in a professional manner, Strong communication skills.

Physical Environment:
Specific access entry points of the hospital – Main, Outpatient and Garage Ground floor entrances

Physical Effort:  
1.    Requires prolonged standing and sitting 
2.    Flexibility to shift schedule
3.    Communicate in English verbally.

Job Functions:

  • Promptly acknowledges all individuals entering the facility
  • Properly performs temperature and symptom screening on all individuals entering the facility 
  • Monitors and maintains social distancing compliance at all times. 
  • Utilizes excellent customer service skills to assure patients/visitors/staff/physicians our priority is to keep everyone safe.
  • Provides accurate information and assists with customer needs or identifies those resources needed to assist customer. 
  • Reports concerns requiring attention to the nurse or director/ clinical coordinator. 
  • Consistently wears appropriate PPE required to perform the job safely
  • Knowledgeable and informed about the layout of the hospital – familiar with department names and locations.
  • Maintains work area and personal appearance in a way that reflects professionalism and demonstrates to our patients, visitors and coworkers the importance we place on cleanliness, orderliness and safety.
  • Maintains appropriate supply of items needed for screenings.  Ensures equipment is functioning properly.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by Director or Clinical Coordinator.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications
  • Maintains position specific qualifications
