POSITION SUMMARY
To provide high quality Computed Tomography and Diagnostic Imaging while promoting an environment of outstanding customer satisfaction. This individual should be highly motivated, work well with others, and be willing to cross-train in other modalities as needed. Flex scheduling, days Mon.-Fri 7am-3:30pm/8:30am-5pm rotating shifts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Education / Training:
Earned a Radiologic Technology diploma or degree from a college or university. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements. May be registered in the subspecialty of CT.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Preference of at least one year work experience after graduation and accreditation; however, we are willing to train.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Possesses general knowledge of CT and preferably have experience working with GE LightSpeed equipment. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized at Williamson Medical Center.
Physical Environment:
Radiation safety and universal precautions practiced in a multi modality imaging department.
Physical Effort:
Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate
Equipment; assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow workers, patients, their families, and physicians.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Checks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.
- Performs appropriate patient history and records in the EMR to include: Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy, obtains appropriate history, allergy, and contrast contraindications for safe administration of intravenous contrast.
- Provides proper radiation safety protection for all persons, to include self.
- Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring the patient is properly covered at all times.
- Working environment is clean, organized, well stocked, and free of clutter.
- Attendance: Maintains minimal number of unscheduled absences and requests PTO in a timely manner as per Williamson Health's attendance policy
- Efficiency: Maintains consistent amount of productivity in comparison to peer group. *Equal distribution of work-load*
- Implements new departmental procedures readily and without delay.
- Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed.
- Performs high quality studies consistently.
- Communicates and follows through with fellow employees to ensure that all requests from physicians and patients are completed. Does not leave work for others to do.
- Works well with fellow employees to provide the most efficient use of the equipment; thus enabling the throughput of patients, minimizes delays and makes good use of time.
