Job Summary
This position provides clinical support to Hospital Medical Services by setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.
Position Requirements
Formal Education / Training:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Workplace Experience:
One year medical office experience and ability to communicate well
Equipment and Skills Training:
Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
Physical Environment:
Office environment.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.
Key Results
1. Schedules appointments appropriately
2. Provides patients with reminder calls
3. Answers phone politely and within 4 rings
4. Coordinates between vendors and the physician
5. Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
6. Maintains current patient information
7. Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the nurse/physician
8. Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury
9. Maintains patient records
10. Makes front desk deposits and maintains petty cash
11. Insures patients are informed of changes in office policies
12. Delegates incoming faxes and scans patient paperwork/records daily
13. Insures patients insurance cards are current and billing is timely
